PORCELAIN-EFFECT
Ingredients
For cake:
¾ cup + 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup + 2 tbsp granulated sugar
A splash of Vainilla Molina Clear
3 large eggs
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
¼ cup milk
For porcelain glaze:
1 ¼ cups sweetened condensed milk
1 ⅓ cups powdered sugar
1 ¾ cups powdered milk
White food coloring, plus any additional colors of your choice for the flowers
Directions
For cake:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Thoroughly grease a 7-inch cake pan and set aside.
1. Using a mixer on low speed, beat the butter, sugar, and a splash of Vainilla Molina Clear until pale and creamy.
2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.
3 Add half of the flour, followed by the milk, and mix until just combined.
4. Add remaining flour and mix just until no traces of flour remain. Don't overmix!
5. Pour batter into prepared cake pan.
6. Bake at 350°F for 28–30 min or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
7. Remove from oven and let cake cool for 10 min. Carefully remove it from pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
For porcelain glaze:
1. In a bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar and powdered milk until thoroughly incorporated.
2. Add a small amount of white food coloring (or your preferred base color for porcelain finish).
3. Microwave mixture in 30-second intervals, removing and stirring well after each interval. Repeat 3 times in total or until glaze flows smoothly from spatula when lifted.
4. Immediately pour hot glaze over cake, coating evenly. Once dry, it will develop a beautiful porcelain-effect finish.
5. Prepare the colors for painting by mixing a small amount of food coloring with a few drops of water. Using a small brush, hand-paint your desired design onto the dried glaze.
6. Enjoy!
